Bronwyn Thompson has worked in persistent pain management in a number of roles, primarily occupational therapy. She obtained her PhD in 2015, after developing a classical grounded theory of living well with chronic pain. She is currently the Academic Coordinator for Postgraduate Programmes in Pain & Pain Management in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery & Musculoskeletal Medicine, University of Otago, Christchurch. She also works as part of a community-based clinical team Occupational Health Canterbury.
