Linda is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Acute Pain Management currently working for Health NZ - Te Whatu Ora across both the Wellington and Hutt hospital campuses. Linda has 14 years of nursing experience working in nursing education, acute pain management, and various surgical specialities. She is passionate about providing specialist nursing advice, care, and expertise in delivering direct patient care and supporting other healthcare professionals deliver evidence based pain management.
Linda completed her Masters of Nursing (with first class honours) in 2022. Through this study she developed a keen interest in project management. Linda has led numerous quality improvement initiatives and is deeply committed to improving systems, processes, and resources to improve outcomes for patients with challenging acute pain. Through education in pain management, Linda aims to provide healthcare professionals with tools and knowledge to equip them with a kete of pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches to use in clinical practice. |
TOPP Day: A Tour of Available Resources for Self-Management - A Practical Approach
The abundance of self-help resources for patient living with pain can be a minefield for the occasional pain clinician. In an increasingly busy healthcare environment, where patient consultations are time limited, how can clinicians introduce and teach patients about the use of online self-management tools? This presentation provides a tour of selected free resources through the lens of a patient story and highlights how online resources for self-management can be integrated into the patient consultation.
