The Chronic Pain Couple: Are Remarkable Relationships Possible? |
Karra Eloff, Australian Founder of The Chronic Pain Couple™ explores the unique challenges chronic pain often poses for romantic relationships. From emotional to physical, and practical difficulties, it can be hard to avoid slipping into a patient-carer relationship or a survival-based coexistence. Even harder, in fact to share these challenges with a healthcare team.
Based on her recently released book as well as her own pursuit of joy in spite of persistent pain, Karra highlights the low-energy, practical solutions in the areas of communication, mental health and intimacy that allow patients with pain to enjoy a passion-filled new normal with their chosen human.
By the end of this keynote, the audience will have a better understanding about common challenges for chronic pain couples as well what role health professionals can play in supporting couples on this journey. In addition, be given practical information and a renewed sense of hope for the many people with pain and a partner.
